{"id":1965,"date":"2023-02-26T08:23:30","date_gmt":"2023-02-26T06:23:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/esbosfp.nfsite.com\/?page_id=1965"},"modified":"2026-06-30T18:06:29","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T15:06:29","slug":"sfp-i-esbo-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/esbosfp.nfsite.com\/","title":{"rendered":"An Espoo for everyone"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Swedish People\u2019s party in Espoo works for these issues, among others:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A child- and youth-friendly Espoo with functional learning pathways<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A thriving Espoo<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An inclusive and multicultural Espoo<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A financially stable and competitive Espoo<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A climate-smart and environmentally friendly Espoo<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This is for example how we work with integration issues and multiculturalism:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than 20% of Espoo\u2019s inhabitants speak a language other than Swedish or Finnish. The Swedish People\u2019s party is in favour of Espoo becoming more ethnically and culturally diverse. We work for a well-functioning integration of those who have immigrated. Integration should teach the immigrant how Finnish society works and what it means to live in a liberal western democracy.<br>However, we want to prevent assimilation and see strength in the fact that those who choose to live here also bring with them new cultural impressions and that they preserve their mother tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Integration and participation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Immigrants\u2019 skills must be utilised and they must be given work according to their education and experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We want to work for a Finland where those who have recently arrived can safely enter working life and prevent unfair wages and exploitation of those who do not yet know their rights in the labour market.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Espoo will offer integration in both Swedish and Finnish according to the needs of the individual.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A clear integration path in Swedish will be developed, and more immigrants will be given the opportunity to integrate in Swedish.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Segregation will be countered, and newcomers will be included in the city community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The third sector and associations should play an active role in integration efforts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integration services should also be offered to those who have jobs when they arrive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Education and children\u2019s future<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Language immersion should be available in different parts of Espoo, and language teaching should start early.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Schools should encourage language learning and co-operation across language boundaries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>More places in upper secondary schools and vocational schools are needed so that more young people can find a place to study.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Schools should actively prevent marginalisation and bullying.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Swedish People\u2019s party in Espoo works for these issues, among others: This is for example how we work with integration issues and multiculturalism: More than 20% of Espoo\u2019s inhabitants speak a language other than Swedish or Finnish.
